Running as the cinematographer for both the interview & car rig work, we captured a series of interviews, B-Roll, and vehicle work of Tyson, a cybertruck owner who polished his cybertruck. Captured on the Ronin4D, the car work was the result of utilizing the Tilta Hydra Alien rigging system, with all shots pulled by hand via the DJI Transmission kit.

One of the cooler shots occurred by capturing the interview of the lead polisher, before pulling out to reveal that we captured it in the reflection of the Cybertruck.

A big debate on set was whether we would know it's a reflection based on the logos

For this shot setup, we had to play with the angle of the cybertruck to make sure we both got a usable frame and a well composed one. While the cybertruck was like a mirror, we ended up shooting a bit low and to the side to truly get the right frame.

The pullout reveal, showing where along the body we were shooting

One of the other shots that we loved from this was the reflection of the cybertruck in the beginning of the piece. For this, I was focused on trying to make the Cybertruck appear invisible, similar to painters who paint hyperrealistic environment. If the cybertruck felt like a spaceship, why not make it invisible like one too?

We opened on something a bit more abstract for a documentary feel to this piece.

Lastly, we shot on all of the driving sequences using the Ronin4D on a Tilta Hydra Alien Arm attached via speedrail. While the set up worked perfectly, the polished finish and unusual angles meant that the LIDAR was not effective, so I had to pull all driving shots by hand. Was definitely a bit crazy to both operate and pull focus, but really happy with how it turned out, especially as we wanted to shoot this at a f2.8.
